Meet Sara Kaplow, Our Congregational Administrator
Sara grew up in Westchester County, New York and graduated from SUNY at Binghamton. She landed in Philadelphia a few years after college and moved to Rhode Island in the late 1990s, when she married a Rhode Islander.
Sara and her husband met contra dancing and have raised their daughter in the dance community. Sara also dances with our local Morris team, the Ladies of the Rolling Pin. Other interests and pastimes include vegetable gardening and hiking.
Sara worked as a newspaper page designer and photo editor for over 20 years. After leaving the Providence Journal in 2008, she was lucky to spend a few years as a full-time mom before heading back into the workforce, this time concentrating on the nonprofit sector. She has held positions with United Way of Rhode Island, Coastal Growers Market, HopArts and URI in addition to volunteering for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Long an admirer of the social justice work at UUCSC, Sara is looking forward to getting to know the congregants and helping the community stay strong and grow.
