Economic Justice Committee

The Economic Justice representatives engage in several fundraising efforts that contribute to improving economic life locally, nationally, and worldwide and work closely with New England Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty

Guest at Your Table

Chair:  Mary Fulton

This annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC).  Donations from our congregation help UUSC and partners respond to extraordinary human rights challenges of today, address root causes of injustice, and build capacity to respond to future crises.

Share the Plate

Chair: Barbara Beckwith

Share the Plate is a congregational fundraising effort to support non-profit organizations in our local community that enhance programs meeting our own Social Justice goals. Special collections for extraordinary disasters and emergencies are included.

Plate donations for two “first Sunday of the month” collections are shared with the congregation 50/50, with half shared with a local 501(c)3 non profit group.  Often a representative of the receiving group educates the congregation during the service about their work.

Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale, RI.

Chairs: Mary and David Fulton

Congregants regularly donate food goods to the Jonnycake Center, a Peace Dale based non-profit providing basic needs, resources, and hope to local community members.
